WHERE TO SURF IN PORTO DE GALINHAS?

Borete is probably the best option for beginners. It is located aright next to Porto de Galinhas Beach and can be reached in 5 minute walk. There you can find the quietest waves of the region and for that reason it’s where a great number of surf schools are located.

Praia de Maracaípe: Located at a short distance from Porto de Galinhas (about 20 minutes walk along the beach) is one more on the list of beautiful beaches of the area.

Maracaípe beach is very popular destination for surfing in the Brazilian northeast. Athletes from many countries visit the Maracaípe beach every year, searching for the best waves in Pernambuco.

In general the waves there are really big, made only for those who already know how to surf. However, near Pontal de Maracaípe the sea is more smooth, providing a good place for beginners as well. For this reason it’s where the surf schools of Maracaípe are located. Besides the surf lessons, it’s also possible to find other types of wind and water sports, like classes of stand-up and kitesurf!

Cupe Beach: The great stretch of sand of Cupe beach and its high waves make this brazilian beach the destination of many lovers of water and wind sports. Located just 30 minutes walk from the beach of Porto de Galinhas, Cupe is the ideal destination for all those interested in surfing, kite surfing, and surf kayaking.
